With so many options out there, it’s tough for a fledgling show to break through. A successful television series needs strong writing, a great cast and fresh premise (or at least one we haven’t seen in a while). Series creator Emily Andras managed to fuse the Wild West and zombies together, to bring us a series that’s completely unique from anything we’re seeing on TV these days. To top it all off, the creative team could not have found a more perfect cast than Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna), Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly), Shamier Anderson (Xavier Dolls), Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) and the wonderful Tim Rozon as Doc Holliday. Chemistry is everything if you’re looking to hook an audience, and these guys have it in spades. Featuring prominent kickass female characters, the series quickly found its audience with Twitter blowing up weekly during live airings. Yeah, Andras and her team have done something right.

So what’s in store for Wynonna and the gang in Season 2? Well, now that any paranormal entity can enter the town, Wynonna’s got her work cut out for her. Poor Waverly was infected by that nasty goo and learned she may not be an Earp after all. New characters will be introduced this season and things are going to get wild. Andras told Variety that, “There are a lot of crises of identity across the board. We’re going to look at the idea of free will this season, because a lot of our characters are thrust into situations where they don’t feel like they’re making their own decisions.”

If you missed the first season, you’re in luck because it’s available for streaming via Netflix. Catch up before season 2!

This is Syfy’s latest show description…
