CBS All Access has released our first look at their upcoming series Star Trek Discovery. By the looks of the trailer, they’ve spare no expense.
The show looks like a feature film, with visual effects set to rival Syfy’s The Expanse. The first episode is set to air this fall on CBS, with the following 14 hours exclusively coming to the network’s digital platform CBS All Access. Therefore, if you’re a Trekkie prepare to shell out $9.99 for the commercial free subscription to the service. It’s a tad frustrating that $5.99/month still includes “Limited Commercials” when us sitting through those damn spots IS how they’re being paid by sponsors. The whole setup irks me a bit.
Anyway, here’s the latest show description featured at CBS’ site…
Star Trek, one of the most iconic and influential global television franchises, returns 50 years after it first premiered, with STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers. The series will premiere on the CBS Television Network with all subsequent episodes available on CBS All Access.
