Sleepy Hollow - Season 4 Episode 1 "Columbia"

Sleepy Hollow’s Abbie-less Season Hits Tonight

I fell head over heels in love with Sleepy Hollow after watching the pilot in September 2013. Man, that was a killer first season, wasn’t it?

Though the series continues to have its fans, I no longer count myself among them. It was clear early on in the second season that the creators had no real plan moving forward. Aside from wasting the talents of Nicole Beharie (leading to her exit) and John Noble, the writers succumbed to one of the worst cardinal sins of a storyteller… Laziness! Listen, as long as a show avoids intellectual laziness I’m totally on board. Not much in the second season made sense. The focus soon shifted solely to Crane, rather than the duo whose chemistry made the show a hit. Sleepy Hollow‘s creators promise a new season reminiscent of the first, but is it too late? Will you tune-in to this Abbie-less season?

Here is FOX’s Season 4 Synopsis…

SLEEPY HOLLOW returns for a groundbreaking fourth season full of supernatural creatures, mysterious events and the search for the truth about the lives of the Witnesses.

Following a 250-year slumber, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) devoted his life and knowledge of the supernatural to defeating the demonic forces that plagued Sleepy Hollow in the present day. But following the climactic events of last season, Crane’s world was turned upside down after the death of his partner and fellow Witness, Abbie Mills. He was then led out of town by a mysterious group promising to put him in charge of an evil-fighting organization created hundreds of years ago by none other than George Washington.

Crane now finds himself in an all-new city working with all-new allies, as he embarks on his most important mission yet: To save our nation’s capital from otherworldly threats that promise harm, not only to our country and our people, but to the soul of democracy itself. Season Four promises the beloved twists, thrills, humor, and “twistory” for which SLEEPY HOLLOW is known, along with new and surprising adventures for Crane, JENNY MILLS (Lyndie Greenwood) and other favorites.

Sleepy Hollow airs Fridays at 9/8c on FOX.
